Feature Item - May

The Corless Family Strikes Again

Two years ago, when she was turning seven, Olivia Corless invited her friends to her birthday party with the request that they not bring gifts for her, but instead, bring personal care items for the people living in our shelters-what a wonderful bonanza of soaps, toothpaste shampoos, etc arrived at our office! Well, not to be outdone, Olivia’s six year old sister, Juliet decided to do the same thing for her birthday this past April. So last week Juliet and her mom staggered into our office again, laden with an incredible amount of personal care items. Many of these items have already been distributed to families who need help with these items, that most of us take for granted but that put a huge dent in limited budgets! We are amazed by the generosity of these little girls who put the needs of the poor before their own desires. Thank you, Olivia and Juliet!

Wouldn’t it be grand if there were more people like these young ladies, who thought about the poor before herself?
